New Silver Spring park includes a dog run, lawn area, fitness equipment, and more
Wheaton, Md. – Montgomery Parks will cut the ribbon on its newest park, Bottleworks Lane Park, on Friday, September 18, 2026. The celebration will take place from 5 – 7 p.m. at 1110 East-West Highway, Silver Spring, Md. 20910. There will be a brief speaking program, as well as live music, food, and beer trucks.
Bottleworks Lane Park is a one‑acre urban park located in south Silver Spring between East‑West Highway and Kennett Street. Montgomery Parks acquired the site in 2021 and transformed the former auto center into a vibrant public space that strengthens the walk‑to park network and creates a place for residents to enjoy the outdoors and connect with one another.
The park offers a variety of amenities, including:
- Multipurpose court — for basketball, futsal, and flexible recreation
- Exercise area — outdoor fitness equipment for all levels
- Game spaces — ping pong, cornhole, and bocce
- Multi‑age playground — with nature play features
- Dog runs — separate areas for large and small dogs
- Picnic and lawn areas — flexible spaces for gathering and relaxation
- Community plaza and terrace — a welcoming hub for socializing and small events
“Bottleworks Lane Park brings much-needed park space to downtown Silver Spring where neighbors can get together and enjoy time outdoors,” said Miti Figueredo, director of Montgomery Parks.
