Prerequisite: Must have passed Kinder Sticks. Mini Sticks builds on the Kinder Sticks program and is the perfect introduction to Hockey 1 and 2 for our youngest skaters. This playful, high-energy class blends elements of the Youth 2 curriculum while incorporating foundational Hockey 1 and 2 skills in an age-appropriate environment for children ages 4–6. Through engaging activities, skaters develop stick handling skills, build confidence, and have fun along the way. Participants learn how to move safely with a stick, glide with control, practice simple passing, and take their first shots.
Mini Sticks serves as an ideal bridge between early skating classes and more structured hockey levels, preparing skaters for Hockey 3 and beyond. Required equipment: Hockey skates, caged hockey helmet, neck guard, hockey shin guards, hockey gloves, and a flat stick cut to the skater’s height.
Required equipment: Caged Hockey Helmet and Gloves/Mittens. Suggested equipment: Hockey shin guards and elbow pads. Fee includes six lessons, skate rental, and a practice card for public session admission to practice.
