Woodlawn Manor Guided Twilight Trek - October 10

Learn historical context and techniques used to navigate the way North to freedom including the challenges and opportunities nighttime travel presented. Traverse the trail with the help of stars and moonlight while learning which plants were helpful along the journey. Participants are highly encouraged to bring a flashlight and wear light colored or reflective clothing.

This Twilight Trek is a part of the “When the Stars Led the Way” program series. The Gaithersburg Community Museum Latitude Observatory will be onsite with a telescope to view the night sky before the hike begins.

Hike will begin at 6:00pm and end at approximately 8:00pm. Woodlawn Museum admission included; please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the hike to explore the museum. Hike covers approx. 2 miles and lasts 1 ½ hours. The trail is not ADA accessible. Appropriate for ages 15 and up. This limited monthly series is not available for private bookings. Small social groups are welcome.
