Discover the joy of creating with Hands-On History! In this dynamic program, kids will dive into the skills and crafts of the past as they explore a variety of traditional hands-on activities. From wood carving and leather working to paper making, basket weaving and more, each session offers a new opportunity for young crafters to learn, create and connect with history in a tangible way. Guided by engaging instructors, participants will gain confidence as they work with real tools and materials – experiencing firsthand how everyday items were crafted long before modern technology. Each session brings a fresh project and a chance to explore a different historical technique.
Get ready to explore the history of sustainable jewelry and art through this Victorian paper beads program! Students will learn how people in the past used a new way of repurposing to create beautiful art. In this class, students will use paper to create extraordinary beads that can be used for a variety of art such as jewelry, decorations, key chains, and more!
This is a drop-off program, but parents are welcome to hang around the Farm Park during the class. Please remember to bring water and dress for the activity – some may get messy!
