
WHEATON, Md. – Montgomery Parks opened three new playgrounds this spring at parks in Silver Spring, Wheaton, and Olney. The newly renovated playgrounds are located at Indian Spring Terrace Local Park, Olney Mill Neighborhood Park, and Valleywood Neighborhood Park. All of the playgrounds include equipment for kids aged 2- 5 and 5 – 12.
Indian Spring Terrace Local Park: The new playground includes tot swings, a new playhouse for children 2 to 5 years old, and a new play structure in the shape of a tree for children 5 to 12 years old. There is also a seesaw, two spring riders, a “cozy cocoon” spinner, and several boulders for climbing and sitting.
Olney Mill Neighborhood Park: The new playground includes three large play structures featuring slides, spinners, overhead climbers, tunnels and ladders, as well as a swing set, double spring rider, and a crab trap structure for climbing.
Valleywood Neighborhood Park: The new playground is surrounded by brightly painted artwork leading up to the play equipment, which includes a swing set for older kids (including an accessible swing) and two new play structures, a seesaw and spring rider.
