Sustainability at Montgomery Parks
At Montgomery Parks, sustainability is more than just “going green.” For us, sustainability is about implementing practices that promote ecological health, social equity, and economic vitality to maintain thriving communities in Montgomery County and beyond. As an agency, we are committed to:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to reach the Montgomery County goal to be carbon free by 2035
- Generating renewable energy on parkland
- Electrifying our fleet and equipment
- Moving towards zero waste within our operations
- Preserving natural and economic resources
- Creating opportunities to connect with sustainability and nature
The M-NCPPC Montgomery County Sustainability Plan helps to guide this work. Assessed and updated every 5 years, the Sustainability Plan serves as a strategic plan for each county to implement practices that advance sustainability of the organization and the communities we serve.
