Home / Montgomery Parks postpones June 6, 2023 community meeting for the future disc golf course at Northwest Branch Recreational Park

A new meeting will take place on June 20, 2023 at 7 p.m. at the National Capital Trolley Museum.

WHEATON, Md. – Montgomery Parks is postponing the community meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 6, 2023, about plans to develop a disc golf course at Northwest Branch Recreational Park. The meeting is being postponed due to health reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. A new meeting will take place on June 20, 2023, at 7 p.m. at the National Capital Trolley Museum, located at 1313 Bonifant Street, Colesville, Md., 20905.

The proposed 18-hole course will help activate the largely undeveloped Northwest Branch Recreational Park and complement the National Capital Trolley Museum, located adjacent to the park.  Disc golf is similar to traditional golf but instead of clubs and balls, players throw discs into baskets located at each hole.

The meeting is being postponed due to health reasons. A new meeting date will be announced soon. We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. The future course will be designed as a fully accessible, multi-generational facility for people of all ages and skill levels and can host local and regional disc golf tournaments. The planned project will also include a group picnic shelter adjacent to the 18th hole.
