Better with Age Comedy Special

For Active Aging Week, Montgomery Parks is bringing a free outdoor comedy special to Martin Luther King Jr. Recreational Park. Geared toward audience members ages 55 and better, Better with Age Comedy Special is a specially curated show by Silver Spring’s Improbable Comedy. Bring your friends and loved ones out to the park on Tuesday, October 1 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm to enjoy an afternoon getaway full of laughs on the lawn.

Arrive at 12:30 pm to take in the beautiful scenery, explore the park, and grab your seats. Have a bite to eat from local food vendors who will be serving up lunchtime snacks for purchase. Get settled in your seats by 1:00 pm to enjoy the curated comedy hour where comedians will cover topics about the trials and tribulations that come with aging, family, friendships, relationships, and more! 

This is a free, outdoor event. Registration is not required—some chair seating to be provided by Montgomery Parks. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

This show is intended for mature audiences ages seventeen and up and is not recommended for viewers under seventeen. Viewer discretion is advised.

Frequently Asked Questions

Parking/Transportation

Parking is available in the designated on-site lots next to the event space.

Public Transportation: Bus #21, C8, and Z2 to New Hampshire Ave & Jackson Road (Stop ID 2001180). Walk north along New Hampshire Ave to the traffic light, and use the cross walk to cross over New Hampshire Ave to Jackson Rd. Walk along Jackson Road and the park will be on your left about three blocks down the road.

Restrooms

Indoor-accessible facilities are located next to the performance area.

Cost

This event is free to attend.

Seating

Some seating will be provided on a first come first served basis. Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic blankets and chairs in case there are no more seats available upon arrival.

Accessibility

This event is generally accessible according to the 2010 ADA Standards and Guidelines. The event area is located on a flat grass lawn. Food

Outside food is permitted at the event.

What to Bring

Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for seating. This event will take place in full sun, there is no shade. Guests should come prepared by wearing sunscreen, bringing a hat or head covering, and bringing their own water.

Pets

Dogs are permitted at these events but must be on a leash while on park property. Owners must pick up after their pet and dispose of any waste in the provided trash receptacles.
