Project Description
This project renovates and replaces the existing playground in Newport Mills Local Park, located at 11201 Newport Mill Road, Wheaton, MD.
Background
The existing playground will be removed and a completely new playground will be installed. Local park playgrounds are typically 3,500 to 5,000 square feet in size and include playground equipment to meet the needs of children from ages 2 to 12. Typical types of equipment include swings, play structures, and smaller freestanding pieces of equipment such as spring rockers or spinning elements.
Status/Project Update
Playground design was approved by the community. Construction documents are being prepared for a late winter/early spring installation.
New playground open Spring 2020. Old playground scheduled to be removed in Spring/ Summer 2020.
