This project will renovate Edith Throckmorton Neighborhood Park, located at 3925 Hampden Street in Kensington, Maryland. The intent of the project is to renew the playground and picnic area for multi-purpose recreation and leisure uses while providing accessibility and stormwater management.
The 1/5-acre park is located within a residential neighborhood where Vaughn Street terminates at Hampden Street. Situated between two single-family dwellings, the existing facilities includes a playground, picnic, and a sitting area. The northern portion of the park is in the stream buffer and opens onto the Rock Creek Stream Valley.
