Night in the Park Programs

Locust Grove Nature Center is offering new Night in the Park Programs on Saturdays and Sundays!

These programs are great for adults and teens, as teambuilding activities, birthday parties, or special event celebrations for those who aren’t afraid of the dark…

Night in the Park Packages Include:

  • A three-hour rental of the Picnic Shelter. The Shelter is adjacent to the fire ring. In the case of severe weather, we can provide an indoor alternative. Setup and cleanup time must be included in your three-hour rental.
  • A one-hour Nature Program for up to 20 people. We have several choices of themes for these Naturalist-led programs, which you can read about below.
  • A campfire at the Oak Grove Fire ring. We will provide fuel for the fire, and our Naturalist will start and maintain the fire for your group.

Fee: $350
Offered from 5pm to 8pm on Saturdays or Sundays.

Themes Available for Night in the Park Programs:

Park After Dark: Take a night hike with a naturalist to discover who is out and about in the park after dark! Listen for owls, mammals, frogs, and more!  Depending on the time of year you may also see some nighttime critters before returning to the safety of the fire.

Folk Fire: A Naturalist will provide the oldest form of entertainment – telling stories around the fire!  Some of our naturalists bring instruments and songs to share as well.

Animal Encounter: Learn about nocturnal and crepuscular critters from our very own live animal ambassadors. Includes a personal encounter with our reptiles and amphibians.

Seasonal Offering: This special offering will change based on the season, so keep an eye out for exciting new offerings! Seasonal programs MUST be booked by calling the Nature Center, as they are very limited!

 

To book your party visit Active Montgomery and use the reservations tab – then “quick reserve” and the drop down for “Parks Locust Grove Night in the Park.”You can view availability for different dates, choose your theme, and confirm your reservation.

Active Montgomery has the most up to date calendar and shows immediate booking info.  Your reservation is not final until you have booked online and paid your fees to complete the reservation.
