Montgomery Parks hosts 2023 Harvest Festival

WHEATON, Md. – Montgomery Parks announces the 29^th annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 7, from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Agricultural History Farm Park. This family-friendly festival is an opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled, fall day on the farm with traditional crafts, activities, live music and food. This year marks the return of the festival since 2019, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.

WHAT:          2023 Harvest Festival

WHEN:         Saturday, October 7, 2023 | 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

WHERE:      Agricultural History Farm Park, 18400 Muncaster Road, Derwood

FEE:          $20 per car (refreshments, food and some activities have additional cost)

Music & Storytelling Schedule:

On the Main Stage:

• 11:30 a.m. & 12:45 p.m. – Live music by Linda Harris & David B. Cole
• 12 & 1:30 p.m. – Storyteller Baba Bomani
• 2 & 3:15 p.m. – The Hickory Grove Band, and the String Bean Band
• 2:45 p.m. – Storytelling by Dr. Karen Wilson Ama’Echefu

Carriage House:

• 12:30 & 2:30 p.m. –  The String Bean Band

Farmhouse Porch:

• 1:30 p.m. – Storyteller: Dr. Karen Wilson Ama’Echefu

Demonstrations and Activities include:

• Scarecrow making
• Pumpkin painting
• Historic games for children
• Candle dipping, Tin-smithing and marble making
• Blacksmith, Woodworking and Sawmill Demonstrations
• Trail & Error Acres Sheepdog Herding
• Angel Locks Fiberworks Demonstrations
