REGISTRATION CLOSED – Weed Warrior Workday in Little Falls Stream Valley (Massachusetts Ave)

Celebrate Earth Month and save the trees

Join Celia, Weed Warrior Supervisor, for a non-native, invasive plant removal workday in Little Falls Stream Valley at Mass Ave in Bethesda, MD. We will meet at the park entrance at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Little Falls Parkway. (There is a gravel parking lot across from the entrance for parking,  at the intersection of Little Falls Parkway and Massachusetts Avenue). Weather policy: LFWA will usually hold events as long as there is not pouring rain or deep snow. They will post a message on the LFWA website by 9:00am if they need to cancel.

Please wear long pants that cover your ankles, long sleeves, and sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Bring gloves, pruners, small folding hand saws and/or loppers if you have them. Gloves and tools are available to borrow if you don’t have your own. No power tools or machetes allowed. Please bring water to drink. Please note: Court Ordered Volunteer Hours can’t be granted through this workday.

This event is capped at 10 people.

This workday is pre-approved for MCPS SSL hours. Volunteers under 16 are not permitted to use tools, so if you are under 16, please email the Weed Warrior supervisor ahead of time to see whether they will have meaningful work for you to do.  Volunteers 14 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

*If you or anyone in your household are sick, waiting for Covid test results, and/or have tested positive for Covid (regardless of vaccination status) you are not eligible to volunteer at this time.* Please email the WW Volunteer Coordinator if you need a copy of the current Weed Warrior Workday COVID protocols.

• If you don’t have an account in our system, please create one.
• If you already have an account in the database, but forgot your login info, email the WW Volunteer Coordinator, and don’t create a new account.
