Weed Warrior & Litter Cleanup Project

A variety of non-native, invasive plant species are present in Montgomery Parks. These plants can take over an area quickly and threaten our native plant communities and the wildlife that depends on them.  Additionally, litter pollution often finds its way into our parks and eventually moves onto our streams, rivers, and the Atlantic Ocean.

Join us for a Weed Warrior & Litter Cleanup event at McKenney Hills Park on April 15, 2023 from 10 am – 12 pm (rain date: 4/22/23)

Learn how you can help control non-native, invasive plants and preserve the health of our parks! Instructions and tools will be provided. Only volunteers 16 & up may use cutting tools.

Attire:
Make sure to wear sturdy boots and long pants. Long shirts are also recommended as well as hats, sunscreen, and bug spray. Bring your own gloves if you have them. Parks will provide bags, gloves for keeping, and trash grabbers.

We will have SSL forms at the event.

Volunteers under 14 years old must have a registered parent/guardian with them.
