Salsa in the Park Night of Music

Get on your feet and move to the beat at Salsa in the Park Night of Music on Friday, May 19 at Germantown Town Center Urban Park.

With deep influences from Spanish, African and Indigenous cultures, and origins from Cuba and Puerto Rico, Salsa music and dance have been inspiring music lovers since the 1900s. Today, the genre abounds with so many unique styles and sounds. With a driving percussive beat and notorious piano melodies, Salsa music is sure to get anyone’s hips moving and their feet tapping.

On Friday, May 19, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm, Montgomery Parks will be bringing these spicy rhythms to Germantown Town Center Urban Park with live Salsa music from local band Sin Miedo. For over 20 years they have been playing music in the DC and Baltimore area from their repertoire of Salsa classics as well as originals with Spanish and French lyrics. They are one of the best Salsa and Latin Jazz orchestras in the DMV area and have even toured around the US and abroad.

Enjoy a night of music with your friends and family at this free event. Help yourself wind down from the work week by dancing your stresses away with a cold beer in hand from local brewing company Waredaca. Work up an appetite and grab some food from local vendors Churros Inc. and Trippy Tacos Food Truck.

All ages are welcome. Whether you are a Salsa pro or just a lover of live music, come experience and appreciate the rich culture of Latin American music, dance, and food at Salsa in the Park.
