Paint a Storm Drain Mural for SSL hours!

Do you love art? Lend us your talents, earn SSL hours and help us educate our communities about littering awareness through art. Storm drain murals beautify our parks and connect us to the Chesapeake Bay watershed. This November, we will paint a storm drain at Spencerville Local Park with designs inspired by artist Pamela Gordimer.

Requirements:
– Must be 14 years old & up
– Must be able to draw and paint with permanent paint
– Must be able to work outdoors. We will have access to bathrooms & water

This opportunity is eligible for SSL hour credit.

Duties:
– Assist with pouring paint and mixing paint as needed
– Help artist draw outlines for art elements to paint. Examples include litter items, plants, animals, etc.
– Help keep brushes in water
– Assist with cleanup and take-down

Scheduled Paint Days:

11/12 Saturday 11am-2pm

11/22 Tuesday *early release day* 1-4pm

Make up day: 12/7 1-4pm

*If you or anyone in your household are sick, waiting for Covid test results, and/or have tested positive for Covid (regardless of vaccination status) you are not eligible to volunteer at this time.*
