Guest Presenter LaTisha Gasaway-Paul is a fifth generation descendent of the man who founded the Scotland community in Potomac.  She will discuss the community’s historic triumphs and challenges,  and  how she is working to expand the Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival into Washington’s premiere Juneteenth celebration.  The three day event will take place in multiple locations in Montgomery County.  It will include a kids’ carnival, displays about other historic African American communities in the county, a classic car show, a talent show and a baseball game.  More information on the festival is available on the Juneteenth Scotland website.
