Friday Foray: Underground Railroad Trail

Winter is almost here but we can still savor the last vestiges of autumn and appreciate their value. On this hike we’ll learn a little about the underground railroad trail as it led from Sandy Spring to Pennsylvania. We?ll also consider how enslaved people depended on fall’s abundance as they made their way to freedom. Our hikes are 2 to 3 miles long on natural surface trails. Registration closes the Wednesday immediately prior to the hike when directions to the trail head are emailed to all registrants. Inclement weather cancels the hike. Face coverings and physical distancing are mandatory.
