About Black Hill Regional Park

Lille Seneca Lake with Autumn Colors

All park facilities are wheelchair accessible. In addition to the ten miles of natural surface trails, there are several miles of handicapped-accessible paved trails, a wheel-chair accessible fishing pier and boat rental facility. Comfort stations are open only from March 1 - October 31; portable toilets are available year-round at the public boat ramp parking area. The park has no snack bar, but there are soda machines at some comfort stations. The closest store is the Boyds Country Store.

The jewel of Black Hill Regional Park is Little Seneca Lake, the 505-acre reservoir located in this upper Montgomery County Park. The lake is surrounded by 1,800 acres of park lands. The freshwater community teams with a healthy population of plankton, insects, fish, frogs, turtles, beavers, muskrats, as well as an incredible variety of waterfowl and fishing birds such osprey, bald eagles, great blue herons, and kingfisher. The shore plant life is diverse and furnishes food, forage and shelter for the abundant wildlife.

Please phone 301-972-3476 for additional park information.
