About Brookside Gardens
Brookside Gardens is Montgomery County's incomparable, award-winning 50-acre public display garden situated within Wheaton Regional Park. Included in the gardens are several distinct areas: Aquatic Garden, Azalea Garden, Butterfly Garden, Children's Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Style Garden, Trial Garden, Rain Garden and the Woodland Walk. The Formal Gardens areas include a Perennial Garden, Yew Garden, the Maple Terrace, and Fragrance Garden. Brookside Gardens also feature two conservatories for year-round enjoyment. A horticultural reference library is located in the airy Visitors Center. Admission to the gardens is free.
Note: Pets are not allowed in Brookside Gardens. Service animals are welcome. For more details on our rules and regulations, please see the Garden Etiquette section of our web site.
Please note: Brookside Gardens' vehicle entrances feature deer exclusion grates, which also preclude pedestrians from crossing. All pedestrians should plan to enter the Gardens through the pedestrian entrances. The Visitors Center pedestrian entrance is located on Glenallan Avenue to the left of the vehicle entrance as you enter. The Conservatory pedestrian entrance is located to the right of the vehicle entrance as you enter. Please do not attempt to cross the deer exclusion grates on foot, as this could result in injury.
Your contribution to the Montgomery County Parks Foundation on behalf of Brookside Gardens will keep the Gardens moving forward to become an even stronger resource for our community and help ensure hours of pleasure for future Brookside Gardens Visitors. We hope you will consider making a gift to the Montgomery County Parks Foundation today.
